THAT BUTTER SHIPMENT.
NORTHUMBERLAND TO LOAD. The difficulty which promised to arise in Auckland over the refusal to take the 50,000 boxes of butter on the big cargo steamer Northumberland, which is now in port, ie apparently in a fair way to be settled. The Freezing Company has received notice from the agente for the vessel that loading is to proceed, and tomorrow morning 5000 boxes will be put aboard. Exactly how much the Northumberland wili take is not-yet known, hut it is hoped the whole of the 50,000 boxes will be shipped. Aβ has already been explained, the butter was refused shipment a few days ago, much to the surprise of people interested. Xo reaeon was given, but it was 6tated that frozen meat was to be loaded. Had the butter shipment been refused the freezing company and the farmers would have been in an awkward position. When the impaeee arose in Auckland, the Premier was communicated with, and apparently the intervention has been euccessful.
