Frederick <!eorge Smith, a young man recently arrived from the Old Country, pleaded mil guilty to a charge of having stolen &V from the till of Hardman and Sons, lilftthers. A defaced shilling was found on accused.* and was identified ashaving been In the till. When accused of theft. Smith pulled out a golil uaU-h and rhilin. saving: "Would a man with those -teal:" He was i-onvii-ted and sentenced to three mmths' hard labour. Smith W. 1,, also charged with breaking and entering the chop of Mr. .1. K. Accused denied breaking urn! filtering. He said the door was open and he walked in. He admitted the theft, pleaded guilty, and was commit-I ted for sentence.
