POSSESSION OF MAURITIUS.
RETAINED BY BRITAIN. DURBAN, November G. Sir Hesketh Belel, Governor of Mauritius, interviewed, said that the question of the retrocession of Mauritius to France had been definitely settled. The island would remain a British possession. Ninety per cent of the inhabitants had no desire whatever for a change of fiajr. It is estimated that the Mauritius sugar cro]> for the season -will total 2(50,000 tons.—<(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
