SOLDIER SETTLEMENTS.
MANGATEPARU BALLOT TO-MORROW. A ballot for land whidh has been opened by the Auckland- Land Board for soldier settlement at Mangateparu, near Morrinsville, will be held in Auckland to-morrow. Forty applicants were examined .at Morrinsville on Tuesday, and the remainder of the 170 itfho have put in came before the Board in Auckland to-day. In addition to the Mangateparu Settlement there are seven sections of the Maketu Settlement, in the Rangitaiki Swamp, to be drawn in the same ballot.
