The hall had been especially decorated for the occasion, and long streamers of red, white and blue hung down from the electric lamps. The stage was arranged with pot plants and. ferns as a lounge for friends and diaperones. and lit with red, blue, and white lights bidden in greenery, of which streamers were stretched acrow from side to side. During the third dance limelight effects were arranged to play on the dancers, who rotated from golden summer to the rich blue of stage moon-i light, and became rosy red and pale orange at will, providing a very pretty picture fo r the onlookers. The cupper was spread lyistairs, and the tables, which had been arranged with long streamers of red, white and blue in honour of the men in the employ of the firm who had returned from serving the Empire, presented a very pretty picture.
