A CHILD DROWNED.
BODY NOT IDENTIFIED. The body of a three-year-old hoy was seen floating in the harbour, off Ring Terrace, Ponsonby, about 2.15 this afternoon. Sergeant Waterman, of the Ponsonby police, was informed by telephone, and got into communication with Mr. Peter Smith's boatbuilding yard in St. Mary's Bay, whence a boat was sent out and the body recovered. Death appeared to have taken place three or four hours before. The body was removed to the morgue. At the time of going to press the child's identity had not been ascertained.
