FIRE AT MOUNT ALBERT.
GARAGE GUTTED. A fire which broke out in a garage adjoining Mr. H. T. Mcrritt's residence, Allendale Road. Mount Albert, shortly before 11 o'clock last night, was accentuated by the ignition of several cases of benzine, and but for the splendid efforts of the district fire brigade would have demolished the building. As it was the fire gutted the inside of the building, but failed to penetrate tlie walls. The tjuolling of the flames was no easy matter, but they were eventually reduced to nought. A motor-car was removed from the building undamaged. The building was practically new, having only been completed a few weeks ago.
