WAIKATO NEWS.
DEATH OF MRS. GWYNNE. {Bj Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Mrs. Gwynne. wife of the editor of the "Waikato Times," and daughter of Mr. George Edgecumbe. died in the Waikato Hospital last night. Mrs. Gwynne entered the institution to undergo a somewhat serious operation, which was apparently successfully performed, and the patient seemed to be making good progress, but took a turn for the worse, and a second operation was performed, from which she could not rally. Mrs. Gwynne was greatly esteemed. She leaves a family of three. Great sympathy is expressed with the bereaved husband and aged parents.
STOLEN MOTOR FOUND. Mr. Anderson's motor cur, which was taken on Sunday night from outside the Presbyterian Church, was found yesterday in the neighbourhood of Ngaruawahia, undamaged. HOSPITAL WAR MEMORIAL.
At a meeting of the Waipa County Council a suggestion emanating from the chairman of the Raglan County Council for the erection of a wing on the Waikato Hospital as a war memorial found favour, and delegates were appointed to attend a conference of local bodies to further consider the proposal. The Auckland City Council proposal for a provincial memorial was rejected.
