WAITOMO COUNTY.
ROADS AND OTHER WORKS.
The chairman of the Waitomo County Coiwcil. Mr. James Wall, and the clerk. Mr. P. J. Mora, who have just returned from Wellington, state that they interviewed a number of Ministers of the Crown and adjusted several matters of importance to county ratepayers. The Council's applications for grants and subsidies were carefully gone into, and he had every reason to believe that when the Public Works Estimates came down the Council would be able to congratulate itself on the success of the visit* They thought that the Council would have about £25,000 for expenditure on roads and other works for the ensuing year. That would lead to considerable development and improve tie conditions of very many settlers.
