A conditional discharge was granted to James Bentley Kemp, storekeeper, of Tauranga, at a bankruptcy sitting of the Supreme Court this morning, on the application of Mr. C. A. 'Herman. The Official Assignee (Mr. W. S. Fisher) eaid that the 'bankruptcy -was a bad one, but it was against the bankrupt's partner that the creditors felt most strongly. Hβ did not oppose the discharge. Mr. Justice Cooper said that ac Kemp had been convicted of a breach of the penal cla-uees of the Bankruptcy Act he could not "receive an immediate discharge. He -would be granted a discharge to take effect at the expiry of three months.
