TRAMWAYS RUGBY.
■WELLINGTON , TAKES KOHX CTTP, DEFEATING AUCKLAND 11—3. Tlie Kohn Cup, a fine trophy lor Rngoy competition among the New Zealand, tramivaymen, was wrested from Auckland bj a touring team of Wellington tramwaymen, after a good fast Rugby game oa Victoria Park yesterday. In 1313 an Anckiand team went to "Wellington and took tne cup away from the Southern men, winnins the game by 11 to 3. It is a coincidence that the result of the game yesterday exactly reversed this 1913 decision, for Wellington won the cap from Auckland, the holders, by 11 to 3. Wellington, made the first attack, and soon Nicholls took a penalty shot that crossed the bar, and then soon after Beacham. for Anckland. scored, and the spell ended with honours even. Auckland had all the best of it in the second part, bnt an interlude came when the visiting forwards went away with a. rush. an<t Roderick scored. Nlchollj converted. Auckland continued to press but could not make more points, and again Wellington broke loose, and Bowe, a fine tack, crossed the line. The game conclnded with the score: — Wellington 11, Auckland 3. The Wellingtonians have been on tour, and were last in >*civ Plymouth, where they played the Stars, and won by 10 to" 0Immediately after they left by th« Kar»wa, and arrived here just in time to strip off for their game on the Park. They will. return on Monday.
