EARTHQUAKE SHOCK.
SEVERE AT TAUMARUNUI. CBy Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TALTIARUNUI, this day. A sharp shock of earthquake was experienced last night at 10.20. It was preceded by a loud rumbling noise like thunder. The earthquake gave houses a good shaking up, rattling windows and making hanging objects swing to and fro. It was certainly the sharpest shock felt here for some years. A slight earth tremor was felt locally between 10 and 11 last night, but wae apparently not so marked as to attract general attention.
