The Federal Trade Commission, reporting to President Wilson on the meat packing industry, says that virtual monopoly of an international scope has resulted from the operation of the five chief United States packing companies Domination of the food markets is imminent unless controlled. A score oi other important industries were likely, through the by-products, to fall into the packers' control.—(A. and K.Z.)
