DISASTROUS FIRE.
MOTOR WORKS DESTROYED. THIRTY CARS BURKED. (Dy Telegraph.—rress Association.) CARTERTON", this day. A disastrous lire occurred here last night, when Hughan's garage and Pitcher Bros.' cycle depot were totally destroyed. From indications the outbreak »tarted in Pitcher Bros.' depot, and from there spread to Hughan's garage. The whole of the stocks in both premises were lost. ' In the garage were thirty cars, seven of which belonged to Mr Hughan, and all were destroyed. The fire was discovered at 1.10 a.m. by the occupants of a motor lorry returning to ilartinborough, but both buildings were too far gone to be saved. Mr Hughan's insurances are a little over JIGOO on buildings and stock, and Pitcher Bros.' for £-2000 on stock. -Mr Hughan estimates his loss at between £3000 and £4000. Pitcher Bros, estimate their loss at £2000.
