COMFORT FOR THE BEREAVED.
(To the Editor.) ' Sir,—On behalf of the bereaved J soldiers mothers, members of the Soldiers Mothers' League, scattered 1 throughout New Zealand, I thank Alan ( Dale for his touching reference to our noble dead. The one point in all this ( pleasure-loving programme ofi peace . celebrations that appealed to our i mothers is the one minute's cessation 3 from all work—that minute in which ( New Zealand's united thought is con- , centrated upon those battlefield graves—■ ' a silent tribute of well-merited rever- ; ence in honour of our beloved lost sons. ' We require no memorial of their bril- ' liant deeds and loyalty to their country. We require no soldiers' Valhalla to perpetuate their memory—that is enshrined in the hearts of their sorrowing mothers j until the end of time. —I am, etc., ' EillLY NICOL, ; ■Hon. Secretary.
