DAIRY AMALGAMATION.
APPROVED IN TE AWAMUTU.
The Te Awamutu Town Hall vraa crowded last Wednesday to consider till proposals for the amalgamation of daily companies. Mr. J. G. Wynyard, president of the Farmers' Union Sub-district, presided, and at the close of the meeting a. resolution in support of the proposal Was carried. It was considered desirable, however, that a committee be immediately set up to guard the suppliers' interests, particularly in the direction of securing immediate consideration of the needs here- It was felt that suppliers should maintain a close grasp of the situation, and see that the claims are not overshadowed from other directions, and this could best be done by immediate official communication with the directorate. The committee was appointed as follows: A. S. Wallace (Te Awamutu), J .T. Johnson (Pirongia), P. Kay (Parawera), and J. G- Sutherland (Kihikihi). Representatives from Paterangi, Hairini, Pukeatua, Te Mawhai, and Ohaupo have yet to be appointed. A meeting of farmers, held at WaiuJsu, passed a resolution favouring the amalgamation scheme. MATAMATA, this day. A largely attended meeting of dairymen, after hearing an address by Mr. Goodfellow last night, unanimously carried a motion in favour of amalgamation, of the Waikato Co-operative Company and the New Zealand Dairy Association.
