A general meeting of the Auckland Women's Patriotic League was held in the Council Chamber on Friday morning to settle further details of the Peace celebrations. Mrs Ciuneon occupied the chair. It was decided that if «iillicient members take part the procession be formed to produce the first letters of tbe League's name. An invitation to suburban and country branches was extended to take part With the parent League. It was suggested that in addition to the white dressce and light hats already adopted all members taking part wear a dark preen sash over tin- right shoulder, with the name of the league in gold l™ttert-. A design symbolic of the work of the league was submitted by Miss Hasten, witli the suggestion that it be utilised in the procession. The Devouport Lawn Tennis Club held B most enjoyable and successful dance in the Parish Hall, Devonport, on Thursday evening, the hall being very prettily decorated with long streamers of greenery with the club colours (black and gold) showing here and there.
