SOVIET IN BAVARIA.
PROCLAIMED AT AUGSBURG.
FLIGHT OF MIDDLE CLASSES. LONDON, April 6. Herr Erzberger, at Spa, has received a wireless message announcing that a Soviet republic has been proclaimed at Augsburg, in Bavaria. A Spartacist upheaval in Bavaria was inevitable. Herr Belakun has arrived from Budapest and reported he is negotiating a Bavarian, Russian, and Hungarian treaty. Panic prevails. The bourgeoisie are fleeing en masse, selling their property at any price. The railway stations are crowded. The first consignment of foreign food has reached Berlin via Hamburg, where large quantities were stolen. Forty dock workers have been arrested.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
