EGYPTIAN RIOTS
SOLDIERS MURDERED. MOBS RUSH A TRAIN. (Received 9.35 a.m.) CAIRO, April 6. General Sir Edmund Allenby has given details of the murder of nine British officers and five men aboard the train from Upper Egypt on April 27. Crowds collected at every station and threw stones. The crowd rushed the train at Oeirout, pulled tbe enginedrover off the cab, entered a compartment, and killed two officers. Several of the natives remained aboard the train until it arrived at Dermoos, where another large crowd armed with sticks, stones, and kniveß attacked the train and killed the remainder of the party. All the bodies were left aboard the train except one, which is still missing. The crowds at subsequent stations raised shouts of joy on learning that the English officers had been killed.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
