CHRISTCHURCH UNION'S DEMANDS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Christchurch boilermakers, plumbers and gasfi tiers, iron and brassmoulders, and coachbuiiders' unions applied to the Arbitration Court for increased wages, or bonuses- on account of the increased cost of living. The employers objected to. accepting the Wellington award in the plumbers and gasfitters' case, saying Wellington was the most costly place in the country, and wages were naturally high there. The president said he would ask the Government Statistican to attend the Court here and give statistics showing the increased cost of living in Christchurch.
