UNIVERSITY COUNCIL.

The Auckland University College Council met yesterday afternoon. Present: —Messrs. T. W. Leys (chairman), Hons. George Fowlds, G. J. Garland, Professors Thomas, Egerton, Segor, Rev. J. H. Simmonds, Messrs. T. U. Wells, J. H. Hosking and H. J. D. Mahon. It wae decided to make application to the Government for an amount to cover the cost of the new science building. The sum will be over £23,000. The report of the Committee in connection with the architecture classes time-table was adopted and the arrangements approved. The Chairman reported that the expenditure on equipment for the classes in architecture would amount to about £110. It was reported that the Professorial Board had deferred its recommendation with regard to the proposed new constitution of the Students' Association for further consideration.
