» SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Dominion Schools and Intermediate Championship Swimming Meeting commenced here to-day, when heats for th« half-mile were taken. The tirst heat was won easily by Anderson, of Wellington, wtth Lowe (Christchurch second, and Fairgray (Auckland), who swam pluckily for a boy, third. The second he-at was won by V. Reid (Wang-anui). who swam strong'? and well, and defeated Yon Stunner (AucKland) by about a length and a-half o> toartha. Sutherland (Chrlstehureh) pulle* out after a few lengths. The flnnl will bl taken to-morrow night. Great interest it bein e taken in the meeting, which is ueifil attended by visitors from all parts of th« Dominion. Great rivalry Iβ being displays between Auckland, Wellington, and C«ri»tchurch, which have all strong teami <M four competing.
