REMITS TO CONFERENCE. The following remits from the Auckland Primary School Committees' Association are to be sent to the fortheomiog conference of Dominion School Committee Associations, tt> be held at Wellington:— That, In the interest of the children ot our Dominion, this conference of School Coranrtttee A—ociatlons respectfully requests tbe Government to at once set up a .special commission, consisting of business men and teachers, to deal with the present inadeqT—te staffing of primary schools, the overcrowded and therefore unhygienic rooms, the congested playground spaces, the sanitary offices, the lack of Government depot"! for the supply of school requisites, the inadequate grants to school committees, and the insufficient number of q_lined teacher*. In the event of such contmlslson not being appointed, the conference nrges upon the Government the Immediate desirability of making tbe necessary financial and other provisions to remove the above serious di—bllities, -which are hampering the efficient working of our system of primary education

That the Government be urged to discontinue granting concessions and subsidies to ail private schools.
