STIi'i'KNED BY WILSON'S STATEMENT. (Received 9.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 23. The American Socialist mission to Europe, ■which has now reached an American Atlantic port on its return, reports that the announcement of Presi- j dent Wilson's democratic war aims has stiffened British Labour's moral and prevented the adoption of a defeatist resolution at the British Labour Congress. There -was a noticeable decay of defeatist sentiment amongst the Allies.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
