SOUTH AFRICA'S PEOPLE.
(Received 9.10 a.m.) CAPETOWN, June 23. The preliminary total census shows that the European population of the South African Union, exclusive of those on active service, i 6 1,418,000, of whom 680,000 are males, an increase of 11.11 per cent over the 1911 census. The largest proportional increase is Natal, 25 per cent, and the smallest Free State. 3.70. All the larger towns show increases.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
