THE "SOUL OF IRELAND."
LONDON, May 28. Mr Joseph Devlin, addressing an anticonscription demonstration of 10,000 people at Dnngannon, said: "The soul of Ireland has revolted against the claim of the English Government to conscript Irish manhood." They denied the right of a foreign authority to impose a blood tax which Britain dared not enforce on the colonies. He demanded the trial of the Sinn Feincrs by a jury of their own countrymen.— (Reutcr.)
MAYOR OF DUBLIN'S MISSION. NOT WANTED IN AMERICA. (Received 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 28. It is stated that the reason the Lord Mayor of Dublin is not visiting Washington is that he received intimation that he would not be permitted to enter the United States.—(A and N.Z. Cable.)
