OTIRA TUNNEL STRIKE.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Telegraphic advice from Otira to-night states that no word has yet been received from Wellington regarding the report of Mr. F. W. Furkert. inspecting engineer for the Public Works Department, on the 6trike of the men employed on the Arthur's Paes tunnel. A meeting of the Miners' Union was held this afternoon, when it was decided that an endeavour be made to hurry along the decision It ie feared that if thp. strike continues much longer many of the men Will have got employment elsewhere.
