FIRE AT ONEHUNGA.
A three-roomed house, with ell the contents, was totally destroyed by fire about 4 o'clock this morning in Mount Albert Road, Onehunga. Mr. Leonard Hotmer, the occupier, states that he and his wife and five children slept in a tent in the garden a few yards from the house. About one o'clock this morning he lit a fire in a etove in the house to provide hot water for hie wife, who was ill. - About two hours afaterwards he awoke and found the house on flre. The Onehunga Tire Brigade and Sergeant M. Rogers were quickly in attendance. The house was owned by Mrs. Richards, but the amount of insurance, if any, ie not known. The furniture and effecte are insured with the South British Co. for £100.
