LONDON, June 14, Honour After Death. The French Government has conferred on the late Major William Redmond the Cross of the Legion of Honour. The insignia will be sent to Ms widow.—(A. and N.Z. The executive of the AmalgamatedSociety of Engineers has announced that increases in wages have been granted equivalent to 100 per cent advance on the rates of July, 1914.— (A. and _*_!.)' The Export Debit Balance. The imports during May increased by; the value of £3,827,726, and exports decreased by £3,588,155. Re-exports de. creased by £4,647,110, compared with the previous May.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) Smuts May Join British Cabinet. The "Manchester Guardian" says it ia i expected that General Smuts (Minister ,for Defence in South Africa) will remain. !in Britain for a year.
