BRITISH STILL "NIBBLING" EAST OF MESSINES
OVER SEVEN THOUSAND PRISONERS IN A WEEK
LONDON, June 14. A correspondent at headquarters states that despite the lull the British continue to annex pieces of ground and stretches of trenched, and now hold a line over 2.oooyds in advance of the line attacked west of Meedines. Tlic wbolc situation at Messines is most satisfactory.— (Times.) The Germans are using forced labour to construct a now line behind the Dernier River, in East Flanders, to the Scheldt. Other military activity indicates that the Germans will do their utmost to retain Flanders.
