AUSTRIAN SURPRISE ATTACKS FAIL.
(Received 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, June 14. An Italian official message says: "Violent enemy surprise attacks on our new positions on Mount Ortigara, on the Asiago Plateau, were thrown back in disorder with great loss. We also frustrated several surprise attacks on the Julian front.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
