THE STOCKHOLM CONGRESS
FAILURE OF ORIGINAL PLAN. ANOTHER ATTEMPT IN SEPTEMBER. GERMAN SOCIALISTS' VIEWS. (Received 1 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, June 10. The representatives of tho Socialist workmen of Holland. Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Austria, and Hunjrary, whu are a<?%*erubled, decided that it would be impossible to .carry out the original plan of a universal congress. They therefore invited ten delegate* from all countries to attend a congress in Switzerland on September 17. The German leaders pointed out that the proper aim of the present conference is to deal with labour questions as they will be affected by th« peace negotiations, and not to deal with the political aspects of tihe war, or with the responsibility for its origin. Herr Jlainse, representing the German Minority Socialists, has telegraphed that his journey has been postponed.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
