BRIGADIER-GENERAL BROWN.
KILLED IN ACTION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. News has been received that Brigadier - General Charles Brown, D.5.0., of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, has been killed in action. He left with the Main Body as captain on General Godlev's staff, and was promoted to be brigadier in February laet. He was awarded the D.S.O. for work at Gallipoli, where he was seriously wounded. Brigadier Brown, who was 47 years of age, was well known on the West Coast. Iwo of his eons are in the army.
