The conditions on Saturday were not at nil In favour of .dentine play, when the second draw of the Rugby cnampioushlps was played, the ground being soft and tne ball greasy. At Eden Park, where players had dillicu'lty with both foothold and handling, the Grammar Did Boys aud University teams found it impossible to open up play to their usual spectacular standard. High School 3, v. St. Mary's f\ ASSOCIATION. WILD ROSE WINS AGAIN. BROTHERHOOD BKAT SHORE. Despite unfavourable conditions. the Association championships were advanced another stage on Saturday afternoon. On the I'om.'iln. a close and Interesting game between Brotherhood and North Shore resulted in the former winning by the narrow margin of three goals tn two. Wild Rose improved their position in the eompetitlon by disposing of Kverton by the comfortable margin of 3 goals to 1.

KVKRTON V. WILD ROSE. This game was played on the Domain. Tbe ground was very heavy aud the ball greasy, making the conditions very bad for scientific piay. Both sides were well represented. Wild Rose bad Iheir usual team, whilst Kverton were trying Kent, a former third grade player. Kverton lost the toss, and lllllcoat opened the play. In the early exchanges play was confined to mid-old, with both sides working for goal, with Wild Hose having the better of the exchanges. Soon after Stewart secured possession and finished up a tine solo effort with a cross shot that completely beat Cra.ton. thus opening Wild Rose's score. Immediately after Wild Rose returned lo the attack, and a good attempt by Girling was almost through, Craxtou just getting to the ball when Ijornle dashed tip and scored. Por a period play slackened down, and resulted In n series of long kicks. Kverton wore forced back almost to the gonl line, and a pass coming from tbe left wing, M. Walbran headed a third goal. At this period Wild Rose were playing. despite tbe weather conditions, a very clever game, and were combining well. Wild Rose kept up a constant pressure, and were always in tho picture. Graham was successful with a ground shot which Just went inside the upright.
