A BIG AMALGAMATION.
TWO DAIRYING CONCERNS. £2,000,000 INVOLVED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MATANGI. Monday. The amalgamation of the New Zealand Dairy Association, Ltd- with the Matangi Cheese Company, Ltd., marks a most important development of the dairying indnstry in the Waikato. The scheme was finally endorsed at two meetings held last <we_i, one of the Dairy Association suppliers (presided over'by Mr. VV. E. Clark) and the other of the Matangi Cheese Company, at which Mr. Hugh McKean was chairman. The plans provide for the erection of a Glaxo factory, and the Dairy Association have contracted to sell to Messrs. J. Nathan and Co., of Wellington, the output of Glaxo for a term of years, during which time it is expected that the value of the product will exceed two million pounds. The negotiations for the amalgamation were conducted by Mr. A. E. Pacey, of Auckland, managing director of the New Zealand Dairy Association, Mr. F. J. Nathan, of Palmerston North, aud Mr. D. J. Nathan, of Wellington.
