BORROWED MONEY.
BANKRUPT WITH NO ASSETS. Robert Thomas L>agg. in a schedule furnished to the Official Assignee in Bank rupt, set down unsecured creditors £575 19/2, and assets nil. He states that hie bankruptcy was caused by an action taken against him in the Supreme Court. Auckland, by the widow of a relation cd his wife. The judgment against him was for £575 19/2. In 1599 he was in business as a hosier in England, and his wife's relation invested the sum of £40(J in the business, and later another £ 101), making £500 in all. In September, IHO3. a sum of £100 was repaid, and since that date several small sinus as interest. At present bankrupt was working on wages at £3 per week, the business having proved most unprolitable. It was always understood by his wife's relation and bankrupt, prior to the lattrr's marriage, that the money would never be called up. It was only after he was married that he received requests for the money, and after the death of the lender action to recover was taken by the widow. -v
