BRAZIL TAKES THE FIRST STEP.
ALL GERMAN SHIPS IN HER WATERS SEIZED.
(Received 11.50 a.m.) RIO DE JANEIRO, April 13. Brazil i 3 arming all her merchantmen, and has also seized German vessels. LONDON, April 13. A wireless message received in Paris states that it is expected that the Republic of Uruguay will break off relations with Germany. The military forces are being mobilised. The Government of Argentine is increasing the effectives in the army and the navy. The Government of Brazil is equipping a strong contingent, which will be concentrated in the States of Rio Grande do Bui, Parana, and Santa Catbarina. in the south of the Republic, where Germans are numerous.—A. and N.Z.
