LONDON, April 13. New Zealanders at 'War Bonqact. Mr. Massey and Sir Joseph Ward attended the banquet given to celebrate America "s cntrv into the war.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) T_e Russia— Guns Talking. A German official report states that the Russian artillery is active in the region of Brody and on both sides of the Dneister. — (Admiralty per Wireless- ) Addition to War Horrors. As a result of the exceptional snow during the winter, the rivers of Southern Russia have been Hooded, threatening towns and villages with disaster.— (Reuter.) Commonwealth War Debentures. The subscription list for tho Commonwealth loan of £3,000,000 will he closed on April 17. The issue consists of debentures for £10 nnd upwards, repayable to bearer, and convertible into registered stock before the end of June. (A- and N.Z. Cable.) Post-War Imi_r_tio_. „n Imperial Committee has linn appointed to inquire into the matter of post-war emigration. Tho committee consists of 32 members, including the High Commissioners nnd AgentsGeneral. A small working committee has boon created, ono member being nominated by tho Agents-General.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) Suggested Home Rule Conference, i A committee in Dublin, dealing with I the question of a conference on the Irish I problem, suggested to Sir Frederick Duke, Chief Secretary for Ireland, that the Government should issue invitations to all parties for a conference in reference to Home Rule. Sir Frederick Duke's reply was sympathetic, but noncommittal.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.) Turkish Looters. The Geneva "Tribune" states that the Turks looted th« Mahommcdan Temple at Medina, in Arabia, 200 miles north of Mecca, including the famous diamond "Shining Star," valued at 7,000,000 j francs.— (A. and N.Z- Cable.) Railway Harmony Restored, j Tho railway dispute has been settled, tho men accepting an increase of 5/ per week as a war bonus. — (A. and N.Z. Cable.) '•
