A meeting of citizens bitterly criticieed the methods of Dr. J. A. Gilruth, Admin- | . ietrator of the Northern Territory. VaTious speakers described the Administrator as a despot, one speaker asserting that the failure of the demonstration farms, with the loss of £ 100.000, had been connived at by officialdom in order to bring about the downfall of the "White Australia" ideal. The meeting carried a • motion asking for a Royal Commission to inquire into the administration of the territory.
