KUT-EL-AMARA UNDER THE BRITISH GUNS.
CONSOLIDATING THE CAPTURED TRENCHES. (Australian end N.Z. Cable At».ol.tlan.] LONDON, February 11. A report from the commander of the British forces in Mesopotamia states: "The positions we gained on 2nd inst have been consolidated. Our artillery several times bombarded the liquorice factory i n Kut-el-Amara, which is strongly held. We secured and consolidated portion of the new front lino west of the factory, and further to the west secured and consolidated trenches on a front of l,2Coyds."
