The rate of discount for three months' bills is 5 X-16 per cent,, the same as last week. Consols 2J per cent, £51 10/ (7/6 higher). British war loans unchanged. Butter Iβ inactive owing to the absence of supplies. Prices are normal. Steamers carrying 250,000 boxes are due, and several others are expected shortly. Cheese is very firm. Canadian Iβ quoted at 150/ to 152/. Ko London business is reported In wheat. Prices have been unchanged since January 30. Flour is in strong demand and limited supply. Oats are very arm. La Plata mixed, ex quay, 49/. Peas and beans are firm and unchanged. Sugar, standard, granulated, 41/7 J. At the tallow sales 962 casks were offered and sold. Mutton: Fine* 58/ to 59/; medium, ill. Apples are more plentiful, and much cheaper than last week, particularly cookers. Nectarines are almost finished. Bon Chretien pears are in good supply at lower rates. The Flora is due from Rarotonga with bananas, and a fairly good demand exists. Potatoes are in. good supply at lower rates. Onions are a shade firmer. Canterburys are due about tbe 21st Inst.
