To improve the lighting of the township the Board has decided to have two acetylene lamps erected, one near Richardsou's factory, and one near Mr. Cole's property. Some discussion took place at the Town Board meeting about the erection of two bathing sheds at Young's Beach. Members were very divided In their opinions, nnd a motion that the sheds be erected was lost. The chairman (Mr. Gillespie) advocated the raising of a loan for salt-water swimming baths. The recent heavy rain did a good deal of damage in the district, and among other things washed down stream Walker's Bridge on the Hunua Road, causing considerable Inconvenience to residents In that locality. The news of the sudden death of Private C. Seaton, of Papakura, in the Hamilton Hospital was received with deep regret Private Seaton left with the Twenty-fourth Reinforcement, but after a short time in camp was taken seriously 111, remaining at the military hospital until a few days ago.
