ADJUDICATED BANKRUPTS.

SYRIAN AND ANOTHER. At a short bankruptcy sitting of the Supreme Court held this morning, before Mr. Justice Hosking, an application was made by Walter Henry Connelly (Mr. A. iL Gould) to hfcve Kobejrt Scarfe, butcher, and Najib Bouzaid, land salesman,- adjudicated bankrupt*. The application .wae originally made nearly a fortnight ago, when it wae explained to his Honor that Bouzaid, who is a Syrian, had attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat, and was then recovering in hospital. On the eanre occasion Mr. Gould stated that Bouzaid had threatened to shoot the petitioning creditor if he went on with the proceedings, and also to " wreck the Court" His Honor expressed the opinion that Bouzaid bad a right to "be heard, and adjourned thfe caßc in order that he might be present. This morning Bouzaid attended in custody, his throat being by this time free from bandages. He was not represented by counsel and his arguments against the adjudication together, with the evidence of the petitioning creditor who stated that the sum owing to bam was £581 14/, were heard by his Honor. The other debtor, Scarfe, did not appear. At the condnskm, his Honor stated that be could not go behind. the judgment obtained by the creditor, and granted the adjudication.
