DEATH IN A SHOP.
An inquest was conducted by Mr. K. C. C'utten, Coroner, this morning, into the oiri'iimstaneee surrounding the death of John Heather, a bootmaker, aged about 50 years, who died suddenly at his shop, 74, Kichiuond Road, Grey Lynn, on Saturday. Evidence of identification was given by .lames C. Doull. of Ponsorcby. who stated that he called as usual at the deceased's shop early in tile afternoon. Failing to get any response, he made inquiries, and ultimately found the deceased prostrate behind a petition in the shop. A Ponsonby chemist deposed that the deceased called at his shop on .Saturday morning complaining of iudisestion and pains in the chest. Witness supplied the deceased with medicine. He did not remember the de-
ceased complaining previously about his health. Dr. Keller stated that he found the decoa'vd lying on the floor, death having already occurred, probably about an hour and a-half before. As a result of an examination he was of the opinion that death was due to natural causes — heart failure. The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony.
