RESTRICTING IMMIGRATION. SEPARATE ARMIES WANTED. TO - DEFEND BOTH COASTS. (Received 5.50 p.m.) WASHINGTON. July 14. The Senate debated the Immigration Bill to-day. Senator Works Raid that Japan must recognise the unalterable fact that the unlimited immigration of Japanese into the United States cannot be permitted. The United States required separate Western and Eastern armies and navies. He approved of tlic Californian law prohibiting Japanese ownership of land.
