"FLYING ANGEL" MISSION.
NEW QUARTERS SECURED. Thn : 'Flying Angel," seamen's mission, con-ducted by Mr. A. P. Cowie,. removed to-day into. newer and larger quarters in Rew's Chambers, Lower Queen Street, opposite the G.P.O. A large room, 27ft square, has been secured on the first floor at a very moderate rental, and has been well fitted up without cost through the generosity of several business firms. Material for partitions, etc., has been supplied by the Kauri Timber Co. and Messre. Briscoe and to. The work of erection was carried out free of charge ■by Messrs. W. 3. CJrevatt and.Sons, and the painting similarly by Mr; R. Taylor. A piano has also been procured, and arrangements are being made for the provision of floor-coverings and furniture. , Electric light is to be installed, the National Electrical Company having offered to do the work free. Financial assistance has been promised by. several of the shipping companies, and it is hoped that fund 3 will be available for the purchase of additional furniture and equipment. In the meanwhile donations of furniture, books, and magazines will be welcomed. It is intended in future to hold the usual Sunday evening ser--vioes^ifor, .sailors- in the ; new quarters, instead of in the Albert "Street hall, and entertainments will also be provided on Tuesday evenings.
