OBITUARY.
mrs. kachael waddell.
The interment took place this afternoon at Waikaraka Cemetery, Onehunga, of the remains of Mrs. Eachael Waddell. ■wife of Mr. James J. Waddell, of "Southside," Ellerslie. The deceased was born in Auckland 64 years ago, being a daughter of the late John McGehie, who landed in Wellington in 1840, and came to Auckland the following year, afterwards farming at Mahurangi and Papatoetoe.. Sixty-four yeare appears a long way back in the history of a young city like Auckland. Mrs. Eleanor Williams, a sister of Mrs. Waddell, who resides at Devonport, was born two days before the vessel arrived from Wellington with her parents, in 1841, and is therefore 75 years of age. Mrs. Williams has resided at Devonport for over half a century. Mrs. Waddell is survived by her husband, her daughters, Mesdames Norman Jfairns and E. A. Price, as well as two sons. The family of McGeMe, is evidently a long-lived one, as there are, in addition to Mrs. Williams, the following brothers and sisters of Mrs. Waddell alive: Mrs. W. Goldsworthy,, of Pukekohe, Mis. E. Meiklejohn, of Omaha, and the Misses McGehie, also Mesbrs. William, Charles, Benjamin.' and Stephen McGehie. Four of the family are older than Mrs. Waddell.
