Cable Asjoctation.] (Received 11.30 a.m.) LO>T>OX, July 14 An important afternoon dispatch from the war correspondents at Headquarters states that later rcpori3 tend to confirm the first accounts of the success of the British attack. • The attacking forces carried the second German line with Email losses, prisoners surrendering freely. They include a regimental commander and his staff, three artillery officers and 150 infantry officers and men, who reached a single camp by nine o'clock in the morning. We stormed and captured Bazentin la Petit, while fighting is also proceeding around Chillers. We have taken practically the whole village. Several German counter-attacks against fee new positions were successfully repulsed, and we are now consolidating the gains. The troops are in high spirits at the successes.
