Mr. H. C. Tewsley occupied the chair, and in a stirrimr speech welcomed the ,visitors and recruits. An exceptionally fine programme was! ■presented. Mr. WaHett'e violin sol".! Mr. Victor.-; harp soio. and Mr. Moulton's j tendering of the " National Reserve ■ March;" on the piano, were of a hiprti [ <;rder. -whilst Mr. C hadwiek and Master | Court's Scottish dances wore enthusias- • tically received, as also were Serpt.j Aimer and Piper Johnson's efforts on th-j pipes. Professor Maxwell WalkerV. | speeches were greatly applauded, andj ■the vocal contributions of Senrl.-Major ; Shirlev and Messrs. A. T. Mayes. Parker.! Jock Martin. Perfect. Echlin". McAnenoy I and McDowell were deservedly heartily ■ applauded. On behalf of tlie company ( Captain Finlayson made a presentation | to Mr. and Mrs. Elliot, of Helensville, ' "who entertained tluo unit in camp at j Easter. j Toasts honoured were " The Kin?.''; proposed by Mr. Tewsler; "The Visi- j lors." to which Major Birnie responded, -whilst Captains O'Gorman. and Anderson acknowledged " Sister Units of the Reserve." Ser?t. A. Bell's toast. " Our Bays at the Frant" was enthusiastically received, some 200 ' re/ices rendering "Tipperary" as tihi , " honours." !Mr. Barrinfrton (hon pianist) was accorded a very liearty vote of thanks, as were Mr. H. Cleal for donation of toV>acco and pipes, and Wendel and Co. and the Lion Brewery for donation-: which greatly added to the enjoyment of the evening, which concluded with a vojte of thanks, carried with acclamation, for Mx. Tewsley's services, and the rnnderinfr by tl'je company, in true Scotch style, of "Auld J^anp-.^yne.' .
