THE PRICE OF FISH.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—Some time ago Mr. Sanford in- j formed us through the " Star " that fish «as cheaper in Auckland than in any part of the Dominion. I have just come , through from Christehtirch and Ounedin. and in both those cities hapuka is retailing in the shops at 3d. per lb., and this j ( afternoon I paid Bd. per lb. for this fish. , which certainly «aa not "just caught/ | It may also interest your readers to ' know that mutton was selling in a shop at 4/0 and 5/ per half sheep. To confirm my statement these advertisements may bo seen in the Christchurch papers. It certainly seems time that the public took these matters up themselves, for apparently the recent Commissions are valueless. —1 am, etc., Cheltenham. H.J.E.
